My Approach
Hi and welcome! I am Teah, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with 6 years of experience supporting adult individuals to reach their therapy goals through encouragement and empowerment.
I am passionate about creating a warm, collaborative, encouraging environment where you feel heard and not judged. I prioritize a trusting, safe relationship as a foundation for individuals to better understand themselves and find tools to lead a more fulfilling life. Using a variety of therapeutic modalities, I provide compassionate and trauma-informed counselling for adult individuals, with the bulk of my practice focusing on the experiences of cis and trans women.
I love to help people live more meaningful lives through developing coping skills for life's challenges, creating more meaningful relationships, healing from past trauma and connecting with values.I believe healing begins with increased self-awareness and insight around unhelpful patterns and their origin.
I have an empathetic, practical, gently challenging and easygoing therapeutic style with a sprinkle of humour.
I work from a person-entered, anti-oppressive, trauma informed lens, using a holistic approach that is integrated with evidence and strength based practices, with an emphasis on Attachment theory, psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My primary focus is on anxiety, trauma, relationships, communication, boundaries, people pleasing, and emotional regulation.
